Privacy Policy
Last updated 28 July 2026.
In short
This website collects only what you type into our enquiry forms, plus the technical details any web server records. We do not use cookies, advertising or analytics. We do not sell your information. Anything you tell us about your care needs is treated as confidential health information.
Who we are
Kamsi Home and Healthcare Services Inc. provides homecare and healthcare services across the Niagara Region, Ontario, Canada. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
We handle personal health information as a health information custodian under Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2004 (PHIPA), and personal information under the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect through this website
When you submit the enquiry or appointment form, we receive:
- Your name
- Your email address and phone number
- Your preferred method of contact
- The service you are interested in
- Anything you write in the free-text box
Our server also records the date and time of the submission, the IP address it came from, and which page you submitted from. We keep these to investigate misuse and to limit automated spam.
Please don’t include detailed medical information in the form. A short description of the kind of support you are looking for is enough to get started. Anything clinical is better discussed by phone or in person, where we can protect it properly. If you do include health details, we treat them as personal health information under PHIPA.
Information collected when we provide care
Care records created while we deliver services — assessments, care plans, clinical notes, medication and treatment records — are separate from this website and are governed by PHIPA and our professional obligations. We collect that information directly from you or, with your consent, from your family, physician or another provider involved in your care.
Why we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and arrange a consultation
- To assess your needs and deliver the care you ask for
- To communicate with you about your care
- To meet our legal, regulatory and professional obligations
- To keep the website secure and free of automated abuse
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
Consent
Sending us an enquiry is your consent for us to contact you about it. For care itself, we seek your knowledgeable consent before collecting, using or disclosing your personal health information, except where the law permits or requires otherwise — for example, in an emergency. You can withdraw consent at any time, though it may limit the care we are able to provide. Tell us and we will explain what withdrawing would mean in your situation.
Cookies and similar technologies
This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts.
Two small preferences are stored in your own browser, using local storage, so the site remembers them on your next visit: whether you dismissed the announcement bar, and whether you dismissed the WhatsApp prompt. These stay on your device, are not sent to us, and clearing your browser data removes them.
Our page fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. That means your browser makes a request
to fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com, and Google
receives your IP address as part of that request. If you use the WhatsApp button,
you leave this site for WhatsApp, which is operated by Meta under its own privacy
policy.
Who we share it with
We share information only where it is necessary to deliver your care or where the law requires it. That can include:
- Members of our care team involved in your care
- Other health providers in your circle of care, with your consent
- Service providers who host our website and deliver our email, who are bound to protect it and may only use it on our instructions
- Public authorities, where disclosure is required or permitted by law
Where your information is kept
Enquiries submitted through this website are stored on a private server we control, located in Canada, and delivered to our mailbox over an encrypted connection. The website itself is served only over HTTPS. Access to enquiry data is limited to staff who need it.
How long we keep it
Website enquiries that do not become clients are kept only as long as needed to deal with the enquiry, and are then deleted. Where you become a client, your care records are retained for the minimum periods required by Ontario law and by the professional colleges that regulate our clinicians, and are securely destroyed afterwards. You can ask us what applies to your record.
Your rights
You may ask us to:
- Give you access to the personal information or health records we hold about you
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
- Explain how your information has been used or disclosed
- Withdraw your consent, subject to legal and care limits
We will respond within the timelines set by PHIPA and PIPEDA. There is no charge for a routine request; if a request is unusually large we will tell you about any fee before proceeding.
Safeguards and breaches
We use administrative, physical and technical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including encrypted transmission, restricted access and staff confidentiality obligations. If information in our custody is lost, stolen or accessed without authority, we will notify you at the first reasonable opportunity where PHIPA or PIPEDA requires it, and notify the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario where required.
